Just because Matosinhos was the largest city with canning (sardines) and because the Portuguese word "fixe" (like fish in English) mean cool or good in Port slang. Our school and surf coaches/instructors are certified by the Portuguese Surfing Federation. LOCATION AND SURF CONDITIONS
Our experienced local surf guides know the coastline and the spots and where to find the best waves. It will take the worry out of analysing swell/wind/tide charts for you. You just jump in the car and into the waves! Portugal is the prime surfing destination in Europe. With the Atlantic Ocean powering the surf spots on this amazing coastline, you will find all types of waves, all year round. Portugal surfing offers a great variety of swell sizes and waves which make it an ideal surfing hotspot ideal for surfers of all abilities.

FISH Surf School Camp Rentals & Tours is a company that is entirely specialized in surfing. It is run for and by surfers. Our Surf School it's entirely based on teach people how to surf and it is dedicated only to perfection in the sport. Three tipes of Surf Camp Accommodation is designed for people who want to learn how to surf or improve their surfing technique.
Special accommodation and course packages are also offered. Two hours of pure surfing with the support and training of a certified surf coach, including all the stuff you need (surfboard adjusted to your level and nice & clean wetsuit). We have taught 5-year olds, and their grandfathers, so you can be sure that any excuse you are thinking for not surfing, we can get you through it! Even if you are not at ease with the sea, we know exactly where to get the waves suited for you to start discovering how much you will like surfing!
If you already have some skills, you won’t be stuck in the begginers class! We’ll get you surfing with similar level students and if necessary at a different location or schedule.

Ways to get to the camp
ARRIVAL AT PORTO WHAT IS THE NEAREST AIRPORT?
Porto’s airport, Francisco Sá Carneiro, is the closest (10 minute drive from the beach).
WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO GET TO PORTO?
The best way to get to Porto is definitely to make use of the endless amount of low cost flights that arrive from a variety of cities in Europe. Easyjet and Ryanair are for example two of the companies that fly to this airport.To arrive to the surfcamp2 or 3 you can catch only one bus 602 (around half an hour) or by taxi (around 25€).
If you choose to rent a car you can choose to pick up at the airport.

From Accomodation to surf camp
We are a surf school and surf camp based on Oporto, Matosinhos beach, Portugal. We are close to Oporto city center and here we had to adapted our surf camp offer to our reality. So, our school is located at Matosinhos beach (9km from Oporto downtown) and it's easy to arrive to Matosinhos by metro (subway) and by bus (about 30min). Normally our clients stays at downtown because they love to go out by night (our famous "movida do Porto") and because other attractions.
