ABOUT THE SURF CAMP

Fuerteventura - "European Hawaii" offers suitable conditions all year long, for all levels, and has a variety of surf spots, from reef-breaks to beach-breaks... The trick is to choose the right spot and right time of the day for a session, which takes a lot of experience. You can be sure you will get the most out of your lessons and time on the water with our hands-on and personal approach of our highly experienced instructor!

This is a private surf camp (or semi private), we operate in small groups, so suitable for solo travelers, groups, families with children... suitable for beginners or advanced.
the atmosphere is relaxed and private, but Corralejo center is 5 minutes walking away from the hotel, for those in search of the night life and party.

FuerteXperience is a small and personal family run business, organizing unique and exclusive active holidays (including private surfing lessons, beach yoga, E-bike rides, volcano hikes and trips and excursions) in beautiful Fuerteventura, Canary Island, Spain.

ACCOMMODATION AND CATERING

Accommodation in a modern private hotel room or hotel apartment in the heart of charming seaside town Corralejo, and close to the beaches, restaurants, cafes and shops.
All of the rooms/apartments are a double/twin rooms, they have a private bathroom, balcony/terrace, fridge, coffee machine, free Wi-fi, TV ... (apartments have a fully equipped kitchen), hair dryer, bed linen, towels are provided (upon request we can provide you with a beach towel as well), hotels have a swimming pool

The food is self-catering, but there are amazing cafes and restaurants with a very diverse offer, not too expensive, all over Corralejo, and we like to give out our recommendation guide/booklet with our favorite ones. We strongly believe that eating out and trying out local cuisine is a must when you are in Corralejo, an experience on it's own.
Breakfasts can be added in all of our accommodation options.

SURF COURSE AND ACTIVITIES

Our surf lessons are private or semi-private, and we operate in small groups only (max 4 pax, unless it's a private group). Courses are normally 3-4 hours long: first we drive to the right spot for the day, which sometimes includes checking out a few options. We start the course with the safety and theory instructions, followed by practice in the water. During the course we can take short breaks, that come with a feedback of your practice. Our instructor is by your side at all times, making sure you are progressing at your own pace and in a safely manner.
Our instructor speaks English, Spanish, German and Dutch.
Also possible only surf courses (without the accommodation).

We provide all of the equipment: foam surf boards for the beginners (boards for advanced surfers upon request), wet suits, leash, beach towels...

Daily rental of the equipment:
Board and leash: 10 €
Board, leash and wet suit: 15 €

Apart from 4 private surfing session and 3 beach yoga classes we include in a package week one more activity of choice:

- E-bike guided tour
- volcano hike
- trip and hike around Los Lobos Island
- excursion to Ajuy Caves and a hike through Las Penitas canyon

Also available massages (price depends on the chosen massage).

Summer: water temperature: cca. 22 °C, air temperature during day: cca. 28-35 °C, mostly windy (mostly wind swells)
Autumn: water temperature: cca. 23 °C, air temperature: cca. 25-33 °C, moderately windy or no wind (wind swells and ground swell)
Winter: water temperature: cca. 20 °C, air temperature: cca. 18-25 °C, mostly moderate wind, sometimes strong (wind swells and ground swells)
Spring: water temperature: cca. 19 °C, air temperature: cca. 20-28 °C, mostly moderate wind, sometimes strong (wind swells and ground swells)

Crowd factor and local people

There is plenty of beginner spots as well as advanced ones, that can be sometimes crowded. This is why we like to choose times outside of the mass surf-schools schedule (that is mostly the same every day), to avoid the hours when the spots are crowded the most, and assure the best and the safest possible circumstances for our students.

Characterization of surroundings/region

Corralejo is a charming and vibrant seaside town on the north of Fuerteventura , full of colorful shops and restaurants, where you can get anything you wish for a lower price than in the mainland Spain. It's surrounded by beautiful beaches, turquoise bays and golden sand dunes on one side, and the North shore - surfers paradise coast on the other.

Activities and facilities

Fuerteventura offers vast array of opportunities to be active. A heaven for water sports enthusiast: beside surfing Fuerteventura offers fantastic conditions for windsurfing, kite surfing, wing foiling, SUP ... plenty of trails for hiking and running or biking, E-biking, MTB... All of this in the breath-taking scenery of the ancient volcanoes and sandy beaches.
Corralejo is a vibrant town with a lot of delicious restaurants and bars with live music, DJ's, and a bit of night life.
Our accommodation option Urban Sunset has a fantastic Roof Top bar, where you can enjoy the sunset while sipping on a cocktail, or hang out with other surfers and the resident DJ on a Friday or Saturday night.

Ways to get to the camp

You need to fly to Fuerteventura (Puerto de Rosario) airport, the pick up from the airport is organized and included in the price.
Also possible to fly to Lanzarote (Areciffe), from there take a taxi or a bus to Playa Blanca, and then go by a boat (the cheapest is Lineas Romero) to Corralejo (cca. 40 min). We will meet you at the Corralejo port.
