Summary
Gecko windsurf school and camp in Fuerteventura offers windsurf classes and windsurf camps for all levels and ages. More than 15 years experience in teaching windsurf and since 7 years running the camp, we offer good quality in the classes and relaxed atmosphere in the camp. We take small groups to maximise the quality of the experience, covering basics, theory and lots of practice and exercises. Classes are meant to bring you efficiently to progress and improvement, in the same time having fun and enjoying the power of the nature. The house is located in Corralejo, vibrant town with plenty of options to have a good time during your holiday. It is surrounded by stunning beaches, sand dunes, natural parks and landscapes you wont forget. Geographically located in Africa, 90 km off the shores of Morocco, it offers mild climate. through the whole year. The canary sleeve of gulf stream brings warm waters, keeping the water temperatures 18 to 24 degrees The summer trend winds and the ground winter swells, make it great all year around location for summer sports. It is ideal for solo travellers who like to meet other people and socialize, as well for couples who don't like to stay in isolation or even groups. We also can offer private apartments for any one who doesn't like to be in the villa.

ABOUT THE SURF CAMP
LOCATION AND SURF CONDITIONS
The camp is located at calle Marcelino Camacho Abad, this is quiet street in Corralejo on a short walk distance to the main street, the town beach or shopping centre.
CAMP CHARACTER
The camp is great for solo travelers who like to socialize, for couples or bunch of friends. The house can accommodate up to 14 people in 6 rooms and 3 little outside "bungalows". The age varies, it is relaxed vibes, occasionally BBQ is organized.
CAMP OPERATOR
Gecko Windsurf School is run by Martin (the main windsurf instructor) and Eline who has daily yoga classes on the beach. Alejandro and Elena are in the house to meet all your needs and requests. Martin is passionate windsurfer from very young age, and teaching windsurf since he moved to Fuerteventura in 2011. He knows all the tricks and tips to bring you fastest way to the progress.
ACCOMMODATION AND CATERING
ACCOMMODATION TYPES
The main house offers single, double, twin or triple rooms with shared bathrooms, kitchen, BBQ area, chill areas, beautiful garden, hammocks, wifi. There is free parking right in front of the gate. It is close to the town beach, to the supermarket and the shopping mall, main street and centre of town.
CATERING
It is self catering, the kitchen is fully equipped, with 2 fridges, stove and oven. The supermarket is 5 min walk. The food in Corralejo is also relatively cheap. Bocadillo with coffee is 5-6 euro, dinner in a restaurant can be as less as 15 euro with a drink. Variety of vegan and gluten free restaurants too.
SURF COURSE AND ACTIVITIES
SURF COURSE DETAILS
For the windsurf you will be picked up from your accommodation with a van. Then we will bring you to el Cotillo in a lagoon with flat water. Part of the lagoon is open to the ocean, where you can also find more challenging waters. We will rig up the material when there and we will hit the water. Beginners will be explained on the beach the basics, while the experienced will go already sailing.
If you have experience we will estimate your level first, and we will teach you from there. The maximum amount of students is 5 per instructor. You can also book just windsurf classes and stay in your own accommodation or private apartment run by us. The time of pick up vaires daily - we schedule our classes according the tides and the weather conditions. Main language is English, but the instructor speaks also Spanish, Dutch and Bulgarian
SURF MATERIALS
We have range of boards and sails for beginners to more advanced windsurfers. You will get a board and sail according to your level. Wetsuit and boots are provided too.
OTHER ACTIVITIES
We offer yoga, vulcano hikes, massage or alternatively surf or SUP class in no wind day. A trip around the island is also an option.

Breaks directly at the main spot and at nearby spots
The north of Fuerteventura offers variety of breaks, left or rights, from all levels. Rocky point, el Muelle, Entubadera are on a walking distance from the house
Seasonal conditions
IN the winter the water doesn't go below 18 Celsius, air stays 17-18 as coldest. THe summer water temperature is abut 22 degrees with up to 30 Celsius air in non windy days

It is crowdy, localism is only on few spots on the north shore
SURROUNDINGS / REGION
Characterization of surroundings/region
Fuerteventura is part of Spain, so basically you in Europe. It is safe to travel and stay, there is lower VAT, hence the prices of many items are cheaper than mainland. Food in restaurants is cheaper than many others.
Activities and facilities
Vulcano hikes, scuba diving and road trips are the main other activities. Vulcano de Bayuyo, the sand dunes, the north shore, the sacred mountain of Tindaya, the cave of LLano are the main cultural or touristic atraction in the surroundings of Corraljeo.

Ways to get to the camp
There is regular bus connection from the airport, airport shuttles, as well we offer airport transfers.
Important details
By bus takes 1.5-2 hours and the cost is 7 euro. Taxi are 55 euro aprox and takes 35 min. Ask us for airport transfer if you wish.
