Hotel Fuego del Sol presents elegant yet understated tropical accommodations. With 27 stylish and intimate rooms with views expanding over the pool area and the beach beyond, hugged by the lush, tropical landscape. The rooms are crafted to ensure a relaxing stay and feature a tasteful interior design that complements the cool sea breezes and natural light, adding further comfort.

The hotel offers guests the choice of one queen and one single bed room or one king bed room, each with refreshing views which blend harmoniously with the natural beauty of Hermosa Beach and provide a beautiful space to unwind and relax. In addition, the 2 Deluxe Oceanfront Rooms offer postcard views of the beach. So lay back and take in the breathtaking beach views or step onto the ocean-facing terrace to enjoy the sea breezes.

Nicely proportioned and designed in a light and airy open-plan style, the Fully Equipped Superior Rooms feature a main bedroom and separate living and cooking spaces. For larger families or groups, the 2 Bedroom, Fully Equipped Superior Room that can connect to another one bedroom superior room on the second floor is ideal.

In our hotel, we’ve chosen not to include mini refrigerators in our standard rooms or standard plus rooms. Why, you ask? Well, we’re fortunate to have food and beverage services conveniently located near all our rooms, so you’re never far from a delicious meal or refreshment.

Now, we understand that sometimes there may be a special need, such as keeping medication cool. Not to worry! We’re here to assist you. If you require refrigeration for medication, we’re delighted to provide you with a cooler and fresh ice daily, at no extra cost! We want to ensure you have everything you need to fully enjoy your stay with us. So feel free to ask for whatever you need!

Furthermore, we want you to know that we offer a special category of rooms: our “superior” rooms. These rooms are designed with our guests in mind who desire a bit more comfort and flexibility during their stay. In our “superior” rooms, you’ll find a refrigerator available and much more! These rooms are fully equipped for cooking, giving you the freedom to prepare your own meals if you wish. It’s an excellent option for those who prefer a bit more independence during their travels.

We will take to the waves today in a 2-hour surfing lesson at the renowned surf beach of Hermosa. During the small-group class, first-time or beginner surfers will learn to paddle, stand up and move over the waves. By the end of the class, it is time to ride your first wave! Professional and passionate surf instructors will guide you through the process, which will be lots of fun! The surfboard is provided. Surf´s up!

Horseback Riding Adventure

Hit the trails for a small-group horseback ride along the picturesque Pacific Ocean coastline and through the lush Costa Rican countryside. Hermosa Beach is a surfer’s paradise with some of the best breaks in the country. It has been rated as one of the best surfing spots in Central America and was recently approved as a World Surfing Reserve (WSR). While this recognition is based on the quality of the waves and surfing conditions, it also considers the area’s incredible biodiversity, the strong sense of community, and the clearly articulated conservation vision.
This is a place for intermediate and above surfers, and while it does host surf schools to learn how to ride the waves, Hermosa is more for seasoned wave riders. The surf community is tight and welcoming, so join in.

Ways to get to the camp

Built on the beach-studded shoreline of the beautiful Central Pacific Ocean, just 5 minute’s drive from Jacó’s internationally renowned beachside town and 80 minutes’ drive south of the Juan Santamaria International Airport sits Hermosa Beach. This nature-inspired community created with soul and sense is filled with fabulous facilities and awe-inspiring amenities that invite many opportunities, including a paradise for seasoned surfers.

Drive It:
Hotel Fuego de Sol, Playa Hermosa, is easily accessible from several key locations in Costa Rica, making arriving there a pleasure. The Costa Rican Road network is extensive and receives regular maintenance.

San Jose: Take the modern, tolled Route 27 for an easy drive from the Central Valley down onto the coast. Route 27 improved the connection between Playa Hermosa and San Jose regarding driver experience. This privately operated modern road means you are in San Jose in under two hours and an hour to the international airport.

Guanacaste: Take the Pan American Highway, Route 1, south towards the Port of Caldera. Continue south on Route 23, which becomes Route 27. Look for the turnoff to Jacó on Route 34, Pacifica Hernandez Oreamuno Coastal Highway. This scenic, coastal road will guide you past the turnoff to Jacó, around the headland, and then to your right is the entrance to Playa Hermosa.

Fly High:
The Jacó-Hermosa area does not have a regional airport. The Juan Santamaria International Airport is an hour and a half away. An alternative is to fly into Quepos Airport on Sansa or Costa Rican Green Airways, which has daily flights. This regional airport is a 50-minute drive south of Hermosa Beach.
