ABOUT THE SURF CAMP

We are located in the heart of Tamarindo, right in front of the beach and one of the best Surf breaks in the area.

It is a perfect beach for beginners for its sandy bottom without stones but can also be fun and challenging for intermediate and advanced.

Playa Tamarindo is a beach with a fairly constant swell that allows the conditions to be ideal for surfing most of the year.

It is very close to other paradisiacal white sand beaches such as Playa Avellanas, Playa Langosta and Playa Grande.

We're a Surf Camp specialize for beginners of all ages, it is a fairly family atmosphere and usually being small groups you get to create a warm and pleasant vibe where you always end up making friends for life!

 Iguana Surf has a very interesting history. Thirty years ago we started as a small Surf shop, at that time we were almost the only ones in the town of Tamarindo which looked quite different than it is today.

Step by step we grew to become Tamarindo's Surf school #1.

Our Crew is characterized by local guys, passionate about Surfing and representing 100% the "Pura Vida" lifestyle , besides learning to take some waves, meeting The Iguana Crew will be one of the best memories you will take with you from this Epic Experience!

Our Iguana Surf Beach Hotel is located within a 2-minute walk to all the restaurants and nightlife and directly in front of the Tamarindo break, you will be surfing! 
Features all the top amenities plus an oceanfront terrace restaurant open for breakfast lunch & dinner, a full supermarket below on the first floor, and the surf shop right next door! 
These accommodations are not like your everyday surf camp – we guarantee an amazing night’s sleep to have you up and ready for surfing each day!   Our beautiful beachfront boutique hotel offers 4 Private loft suites for 2, a deluxe family suite for up to 7 and a shared dorm and outdoor kitchen for the solo travelers!

This hotel offers spacious loft-style rooms with chic modern design, comfortable beds, AC, hot water, free WiFi, blowdryers, safes, mini-fridges & much more!

Our amazing Surf Camp Package includes daily breakfasts, however for lunches and dinners there are a great variety of restaurants for all tastes and also the hotel has a shared kitchen that you can use if you prefer to prepare your own meals.

The hotel also has a bar-restaurant that offers the best American-style meals.

Our Surf Camp hotel is located in front of one of the best surf breaks offered by the beach, actually has several according to the skills and preferences of each practitioner. Tamarindo is only a few minutes walk from 2 other incredible beaches for surfing. (Playa Langosta and Playa Grande)

Tamarindo is known as the town of endless summer, usually only raining a few hours during the months of August to November.

The warm waters of the Pacific Ocean only make a rashguard necessary to protect you from the sun.

Characterization of surroundings/region

In Tamarindo downtown you will find a great variety of restaurants, bars, supermarkets, pharmacies, clinics with 24-hour service, banks, ATMS and everything you need so you have nothing to worry about.

The national currency is the colones but everywhere they accept dollars, the vast majority of people in the area speak 100% English and Spanish.

It is a very safe town, surrounded by nature, amazing beaches and Pura Vida people.
