LOCATION AND SURF CONDITIONS

The house is directly located at the atlantic ocean in Seignosse, urban district Le Penon. You create your own temple of joy in between pine trees in a relaxing garden with hammocks and places to chill. It is a quick jump to the beach (about 5 min). Several surf spots are easily to reach so there is a wide range to pick for every surf level. On one hand you will have a huge sand bank with perfect waves in shallow water for beginners, on the other hand a couple of peaks for advanced surfer nearby.
The centre of Le Penon is only a few minutes by walk. You can get everything what you need. From supermarkets over pharmacy to bars, cafes, clubs and surf shops. Every sunday a huge market will take place.There selling regional goods, handcrafts and clothe, perfect to get some souvenirs.

CAMP CHARACTER

---

The atmosphere in the Villa is cosy and familiar with a capacity of 20-22 guests in the main season. It’s bookable from 18 years and most guests are between 22 and 35 years of age. The basic camp language is german, because most guests are from germany, austria and switzerland but the surf courses are partly being held in English, too. Families will feel comfortable here, but to attend the surf course children should be at least 10 years old. If you want to bring your dog, just ask and we see what we can do.

CAMP OPERATOR

The camp owners are Roland Oberperfler (better known as Lando) and Connie Rothe. They have a wide experience by managing surfcamps and fulfilled their dream of having a cozy surfer house close to the beach – and so the original Surfvilla Seignosse came to life. After years of a partnership with a tour operator, their own little travel agency – Maranga Surf & Travel - and another camp in Morocco were launched.
Together with , Sarah and Marco as longtime companions belong to the office team. In the Surf Villa and the Surfhouse Taghazout Lando, Curry, Tim, Omar, Flo und Nadine are running everything. All of them get great support from committed surf instructors, housekeepers and people who help to build up the camp and beyond.

ACCOMODATION TYPES

In the Surfvilla you can choose between different room category’s:
the basic option is a shared room (4-6), additionally there are double and triple rooms bookable on a additional fee. What else? Two bathrooms with 3 showers in total, 2 toilets, garden shower, free car parking, internet, SAT-TV, simple bikes for short rides, big terrace and hammock’s in the garden.

Holiday in our Surfvilla is also a culinary pleasure: in the morning a scent of fresh coffee and oven baked baguette will wake you up, while the busy Villa-Team is preparing the bulky breakfast-buffet. Tea, coffee, jam, chocolate, cheese, cold cuts, flakes, fresh fruits and a little daily surprise makes your start in the day pretty enjoyable. You supposed to prepare your own lunch package for the day. In the evening we all eat together: daily fresh salads, fondly prepared warm dishes and sweet desserts – our full board is an all around good affaire! You can bring your own drinks (there is a fridge for the guests) or you can buy some from our team (fair prices).

Surf courses are available for: absolute beginners, advanced beginners, beginning advanced, advanced surfers and combined courses. Max. 8 students at once, following the international rules. Licensed surf instructors with ISA certified education (ASA or BSA). Lessons being held in German and English directly at our home-spots. Beginners/15h/theory and practice/incl. all material/for use also beyond the surf-course-time.

SURF MATERIALS

Soft-boards for beginners, NSP and BIC boards of all length for intermediates and advanced surfers are for rent from, indiviadually shaped short- and long-boards, e.g. Webber, Fish etc. Wetsuits (long) from Quiksilver, shorty’s, lycras, own material can be brought. Fares start from 70 euros/week.

Close to the Villa is a 18 hole golf course, a nice skate park, perfect shaped and shadowed bike trails, sunday market in Seignosse, life concerts, nightlife in Hossegor, the legendary surfer bar “Rockfood”, factory outlets of all known surf brands, package trips to Biarritz or San Sebastian.

Miles long sandy beaches, down to the spanish boarder. A bunch of sandy breaks for diverse surf skills. At least 6 spots are easily to reach by walk, the spots of Capbreton or Hossegor within 5 min. by car.

SEASONAL CONDITIONS

Season from starts on easter (beginning of april) and lasts till the end of october. Water temperature in the beginning of summer is around 18-20°C, in june, july, august and september temperature is around 24°C (Gulfstream!!!). More challenging waves will be from april to end of june and from end of september on. July and august are perfect for learners.

CROWD FACTOR AND LOCAL PEOPLE

Due to to the long, sandy beach there are enough spots to surf for everybody. Even in august, when all french people and the most europeans come here for holidays, you will find your place on the sandbars and in the lineup. If you behave appropriate, there is no localism. The area around Hossegor belongs to the world-class surf-regions, the tide and the waves dominate the lifestyle. The mentality of the local people is open-minded. The whole area lives with, from and for the tourism, especially surf tourism. Once a year all the top surfers of the world meet here for the big Quiksilver Pro France Contest and a great party time – surfing gathers everybody!

Longest sand beach of Europe (Cote d’Argent, 200km between Bordeaux and Biarritz) biggest, connected forest area of europe. Official language is french, younger people speak English. Hossegor and the whole region is heavily influenced by the surf-lifestyle. Cool bars, life concerts (Groundswell Festival) and endless shopping in the factory outlets, board shaper and surf shops in Hossegor. Don’t miss the kick-ass nightlife in Hossegor’s legendary Bars “Rockfood” and “Dick Sand”. Big Events like the Quik Pro France, Air Shows, the Fetes de Bayonne and a lot more! Ways to get to the camp

During main season (end of june until end of september), organized bus trips from many german cities can be booked in a complete package. The RipCurlExpress-coach picks you even from several cities in Switzerland. At low season you can take the railways TGV to Paris and further down to Bayonne. From here you supposed to take a public bus to Seignosse or we offer a transfer service on request (add. fee). The nearest airport is Biarritz (Ryanair via London), alternatively you can also fly to Bordeaux or Bilbao (Spain) Contact us for help!
For arrival by your own car we recommend the toll-free Route National. Free of charge parking near the Surfvilla house.

For all non-europeans: please take care of visa regulations! A detailed description of all prices and times for the public transportations you will find at our website.

Please contact us for further and detailed information. All bus schedules are linked to our website. ATTN: the bus trip with the RipCurlExpress is the most reasonable and easy way to heading from germany down to the south of france. But please do not forget, that it is quite a distance – depending on the route – between 1200 and 2000km. That means, that you need a little patience, be prepared with food and drinks, and have some steadiness.

How, what and when?
Surfvilla is open from mid April to mid October.
Packages contain accommodation and full board – or, if required, in addition the bus trip, too. All surf options are exclusively. During main season arrival and departure only on saturdays, in low season arrival and departure dates can be handled more flexible. Your stay can be prolonged directly locally, if there is enough capacity.

Booking and prices
You can book online. If we have capacity available, you will receive an invoice via e-mail and you supposed to do your wirement within the dates announced in that invoice. On short dated bookings you also can pay cash on arrival. Rebooking and cancellation fees regarding our terms and conditions.
