Lima is the capital of Peru, Miraflores where Hotel Selina is located, has a coast full of spots for beginners with very safe waves, waves of small size and close to the coast to make sure the course, in this place is where find the outsourced school of Surf, however, the coast of South Lima has various beaches along 140 kms, beaches of various types of difficulty, the beaches closest to Miraflores have suitable conditions throughout the year but only some more to the south they have perfect conditions in seasons of credibility and with the low tide, this usually change according to the swell that the beach has. In Lima it is very easy to find a suitable beach, both for beginners and advanced, it is only to plan a day to go and look for it, we have several very accurate indicators such as Wind guru who assure us that the experience will be very good. It is worth mentioning that the climate in Lima from May to November is a little cold, it does not rain much but the humidity is very intense, then in the months of December to March we have an average temperature of 25º.

SURF COURSE AND ACTIVITIES

At Selina Surf Club we teach surfers of all levels. We provide surf lessons for those who want to learn how to step on to the water and surfers that want to improve having more speed and control in the green waves. Also for advanced surfers who wants to go one step further in their technique and style. Professional and experienced surf teachers coach you. They will get you to that next level and help you get the most from your surfing. We use the latest and most advanced equipment to provide the best feeling ever, all the lessons include surfboard and all the equipment needed. We have incredible year round surf conditions for all surfing levels, probably one of the best places worldwide to improve your surfing or learn to surf for the first time.

Seasonal conditions

The Sea Surface Temperature (SST) and the Surface Salinity of the Sea (SSM) are very important characteristics of the sea water that, in the Peruvian sea, have distinctive characteristics, as well as high spatial and temporal variability. This gives rise to zonal and southern gradients that reach greater contrast between February and March when, north of Pisco (14° S), the maximum temperatures (26° C) are recorded outside of the 150 nautical miles of the coast. To the south, mostly in front of the outcrop cell of Pisco - San Juan, the minimum temperatures (between 13° C and 17° C) occur in the months of August and September, due to the intensification of the winds and the coastal outcrop, resulting in values of 19° C to 150 nautical miles north of 10° S, and greater distance from the coast to the south of this latitude, while within 50 nautical miles the TSM presents values between 13° C and 17° C.

Lima is surrounded to the north by Ecuador and Colombia, to the South by Chile, to the East by Brazil and Bolivia and to the West by the Pacific Ocean, the largest number of countries does not require a visa and the average stay for a tourist is 90 days of stay. We have 200 miles of marine coastline.

Ways to get to the camp

By bus: Take an Airport Express Lima bus to Miraflores (around $8). Walk five minutes to the nearby Selina location.

From the airport: Selina is located in Miraflores. You can take a 50-minute taxi directly to the location (around $23).

Important details

Formalities: To get to Lima can be done by plane, we have an international airport which is 45 minutes from the Hotel, however from neighboring countries can be accessed through the coast. The capital is Lima.

Language: the official language is Spanish. Second language is English.

Health: To enter Lima is required to have the “Yellow fever” vaccine.

Time differences: GTM-7 hours in summer.

Weather: Lima has 1% precipitation , 81% Humidity and 13 km/h winds

Nearby airports to Selina Lima: International Airport of Jorge Chavez 45 minutes by car, 55 minutes by bus.

Water/Electricity: Do not drink the tap water and bring along medicine for intestinal problems. Use an American outlet with flat connections because the electric current is 220 V.
