LOCATION AND SURF CONDITIONS

There are more than 20 surf beaches with white sand divided by piers in a radius of 30 kilometers. They offer an excellent quality of waves, suited both for absolute beginners and also pro surfers. These options enable our experienced surf coaches to find surf spots where you hardly have to share the waves with other surfers, even during peak season. Since always takes a while to learn how local breaks with the tides, wind, swell directions and sizes, we take you to the best spot.

Since i catch my first wave with 8 years old i feel in love with surf and the ocean.
I have a degree in Design and Communication but soon i realized that my true passion was to share my surf knowledge and meet different cultures.

Languages: Portuguese, English and Spanish
Experience: Surf Instructor training and first aid credited by the Portuguese Surfing Federation since 1996.
Surf trips: Canary Island, Madeira Island, Cape Verde, Srilanka, Maldives, Indonesia, Spain, France and Morocco.

The Surf Camp is divided by a main house, with 2 rooms and 2 bathrooms  (one is service bathroom). The first bedroom has a double bed. The second bedroom has two bunk beds for 4 people. A living room with TV and a dinning room were you can prepare your food too.

The other house has bedroom with three bunk beds for 6 people and 1 bathroom. Note: since you need to go through one bunk bed to reach the other two, this place is ideal for a group of friends.

SURF COURSE DETAILS

---

The day starts with a breakfast to boost energy for a day full of surfing.
Around 9:30 am we start preparing the transport with the surfboards and wetsuits and normaly at 10 am we leave the camp and head to the best beach to surf on that day.
The surf class will start at 10:30 am and around 13:30 you will be so tired that you can not take any more waves! then we will grab a bite and return to the hostel
During the afternoon you’ll have free time to rest by the beach, make free surf or return to the camp and enjoy the forest around.
If it’s available you can take bikes or skateboards and make the trails that we have around the surf camp at natural parque.

Surf Lessons for Beginner
The beginner course provides you with a step-by-step introduction to the practical and theoretical basics of surfing waves.
Professional surf lessons are led by highly qualified surf instructors incl. theory and pop-up practice.

Surf Lessons for Experienced Surfers
At the intermediate surf clinic, we welcome surfers who already have technique and want to be guided by a local surf coach into the right waves at the right time. You will be provided with intricate knowledge of the best spots in the region. And at the same time, receive good advice in the water. Get ready for some of the best sessions you’ve ever had! This level of surf lessons requires surfing experience with a controlled take off in green waves and a medium to high level of surfing.

Endless beach breaks, surely with various peaks for all levels. Great spot for surf school, but also for advanced surfers, when the swell is clean.

 SURF CONDITIONS

Probably the least talked about region of Portugal amongst surfers. Above all, the northern provinces of Minho and Douro feature a super consistent and varied stretch of coastline. With the ancient town of Porto sitting in the heart of the region, there’s also plenty to do and see when it’s flat.

The Port region, in the north of Portugal, is still very unexplored under the surfering point. Likewise its potential for waves is not to be underestimated. Thanks to the powerful swells of the North Atlantic, which hit on these coasts throughout the year. We find in this region a very high number of high-quality beach breaks and pier waves with very high frequency. Waves for all levels, from the beginner as well to the most intrepid waves hunters. You can easily find yourself surfing a peak alone or with your friends. Surely, the Portuguese coast has the highest frequency of waves throughout Europe, even in summer the swells are frequent. Indeed quality waves insured!

Ways to get to the camp

Transfer
We can arrange a transfer for you. Our driver will be then waiting for you when you come out of the baggage hall at the airport. The price is €40 per trip, for max 4 pax. For every extra person it costs €10 extra. And for 8 persons we count max €80 per trip. A transfer can be handy for a late arrival or early departure. Please confirm with us if you want to book your transfer.

Car
It takes about 40 minutes from the airport by car to reach Forest Surf Camp. We have free parking spaces on the street in front of the surf camp. Just put our address in the app map of you phone. Address: Forest Surf Camp ?Rua Paulo da Gama nº9? 3885-406 Esmoriz, Portugal

Public Transport (Metro & Train)
From the airport you catch the Metro to Porto – Campanha (40min, 2,50€) Fom Porto – Campanha you catch the Train ‘urbano’ in the direction of Aveiro or Ovar and get out in Esmoriz. (30 min, 2,40€)? We can pick you up from the train station of Esmoriz. Just give us a call when you are in the metro and it’s leaving from the airport, then we can make sure one of us can pick you up.

UBER
The cost is 35€ in a car for 4 persons max.
