ABOUT THE SURF CAMP

 Our surf camp is based in Corralejo but our surf classes are held on different beaches (depends on surf forcast). Closest surf spot is approx. 800m form our house: bigginer reef Rocky point. Some other spots where we take our students are: El Cotillo, Flag beach, playa Morro, Punta Blanca etc. Most of the spots where we have surf classes are beach breaks.

 Camp has family atmosphere - up to 10 guests. People younger than 18 should be accompanied with adult person. 

Owners of the camp are Lea and Mislav. Most of the time they spend in camp with the rest of the team.  They founded first Croatian wave surf camp in 2010. Kohola was founded with a desire to finally popularise this great sport in the country and the region, because we wanted to clarify to everybody that you don`t need to travel to far exotic beaches in California, Hawaii or Bali to find a good surf. Soon surf camps grew up beyond the borders and now we are offering great surfing experience to anybody who would like to learn to surf or to improve his surfing skills and at the same time have fun with the rest of the people from the surf house.

ACCOMMODATION AND CATERING

Our surf camp is hostel type. We have 3 rooms for guests. 2 shared room with 2 bunk beds each and 1 private room with double bed.  There are 2 shared bathrooms (one on each floor), shared  fully equipped kitchen, spacious living room (with wifi, tv), big terrace and pool. House is located in center of Corralejo. First beach is approx. 300 m, shop 50 m, restaurant and bar 30 m. Smoking is not allowed in house. Bed linen and towels are included in price.

 Our surf house offer breakfast and dinner  - not included in price.
Kitchen is fully equipped. First  big shop is 50 m from the house and the prices are cheaper than  in the most of european cities. Corralejo has lots of restaurants with different tipe of cousines (indian, mexican, spanish, vegan, vegeterian, bbq...) 

SURF COURSE AND ACTIVITIES

Groups are maximum 8 students per instructor. 
Every morning at 10:15 instructor picks up students in front of the house and take them to surf spot with best conditions. Return to house is between 14:30-15:00. All courses are held on English. We offer beginners, intermediate and advanced courses.

Wetsuit, surfboard, leash and beach transfer are included in price. There is possibility of using surfboards after surf course.

We offer 2 trips:
vulcano trip  (approx. 3 h) - trip to closest vulcano Calderon Hondo. Price: 15 euros
Island trip (approx. 6 h)- we visit 6 most interesting spots on the northern part of the island. Price: 30 euros.
We also offer:
yoga lessons 12 euros per session
entrance to co-working space 50 euros per week
discovery diving 45 euros

Seasonal conditions

Best season for surf school on Fuerteventura are during spring and autumn. Sea temprature is over 20C with less wind than in summer months and air temprature is most of the time around 25C.

Crowd factor and local people

Most of the beaches are not crowded. 

Characterization of surroundings/region

The town of Corralejo is located on the northern part of Fuerteventura, just opposite to the Lobos island (Islote de Lobos). It is located in municipality of La Oliva and it is the largest resort on the island, but at the same time in its centre it still preserved traditional old fishing district. Along the coast there is a promenade with various cafes, restaurants and shops with souvenirs, as well as port from which you can visit nearby island Lanzarote with regular ferry line. The main attractions of Corralejo are long sandy beaches that surround the city, as well as 10 km long sand dune system formed by deposition of sand from Sahara desert which has been declared a park of nature (Parque Natural de las Dunas de Corralejo). Sea around Corralejo has intensely blue colours, and apart from sandy beaches there are also some volcanic rocks and beaches made of volcanic lava which adorn the coastline. Most of the locals speak english. Living costs are lower than in the rest of the Europe. No vaccinations required.

Ways to get to the camp

Fuerteventura has only one airport near Puerto del Rosario - around 35 km from Corralejo. Easiest way to come to Corralejo is: by our transfer (12,5 euros per way per person, if there is only one person price is 25 euros),by taxi (approx. 50 euros per way),  by shuttle bus, or by local bus (first you need to take bus from airport to Puerto del Rosario and then from Puerto del Rosario to Corralejo) which costs around 7 euros per way.
