Located in 90 km north of Agadir, Imsouane is a small fishing village that we love! Far from everything but close to paradise… It is surrounded by an amazing nature which breaths peace and tranquility. It’s perfect to disconnect from stressfull life and surf all day long! Surrounded by the ocean, Imsouane has an amazing surf potential within walking distance. The location offers a choice of 3 spots adapted to all levels.

The Surf Spot 

The bay
Favorite of the longboarders, this magic right hander breaks over 800 meters long. You reach the pic of this point break from the harbor. From there, you are ready to catch to longest wave of your life! For all levels, usually not much current and beautiful landscape in front of the spot. The reef
Nice reefbreak left wave which allows the intermediate surfers to exploit the wave with a few maneuvers. It can dig with medium swell and form cool little barrels. Amazing for sunset session! The Cathedral
Working in big swell, this powerfull right wave offers possibilities of nice ride in the line-up. Only for advanced surfers when it’s big!

Whether you’re a complete beginner, intermediate or professional surfer, traveling alone, with some friends or even your whole family, everyone is welcome at Travel Surf Morocco surf camp and school! Share Moroccan cuisine, enjoy tranquility and a cup of tea, feel like a local. Let us show you great waves in incredible landscapes, but also the true Moroccan way of life.
As a family (with baby Inès born at the end of 2018), we are happy to welcome you with your children, regardless of their age! We recommend waiting until they are 4-5 years old and comfortable enough in the water to introduce them to surfing and ride their first waves! We can provide you with a baby cot, a high chair and other childcare accessories / toys on request.
The most spoken language is Moroccan Arabic (Darija) and Berber (Amazigh). But do not worry, most people also speak French and English.

YOUSSEF embodies the spirit of Travel Surf Morocco. As a real waterman, he is the main surf and stand up paddle teacher of the team, with more than 17 years of surfing experience. Graduated from the Moroccan and the French Surf Federation (international surf teacher certificat), he has worked for UCPA for about 10 years. He can read the ocean… which assure you to progress in your practice, improve your style and find inspiration in his passion for surfing. Very outgoing and full of energy, for him is truly important to make sure you will be fully satisfied!

ELSA: As a Morocco lover, fan of travel and surfer, Elsa represent also the spirit of Travel surf Morocco. In charge of your holidays from the booking to the logistic details, she will take good care of you all along your stay. Deeply attached to the nature, she is involved in the coastline protection through Surfrider Foundation Maroc. She will share her passion for the ocean and her fights for a better environment!

INES: Their 3-year-old daughter Inès and her curls will be present with her cheerful personality throughout your stay. Independent but also very sociable, she won’t hesitate to ask you for a card game, a story or just your company during one of our lively group meals! A true ball of energy, she has already been initiated into the world of surfing and bodyboarding and loves to spend her days at the beach with our guests. You may even see her catching a wave on a longboard with her mom and dad in the Bay!

YOUNES, HAMZA ET ISSAM – SURF COACHES: Our team of instructors will help you improve your surfing by accompanying you daily in the water. Each of them has their own unique personality. Younes is a very technical and patient instructor. Hamza seems to always generate a positive aura and will make you smile even after a difficult session. Finally, Issam is an ambitious young surfer and you will be motivated by his passion for waves!

ACCOMMODATION TYPES

Our Packages includes accommodation in a shared (non-mixed) room with a capacity of 2 to 4 people. Depending on availability, it is possible for a couple / two people to stay in a double / twin room for an additional 10€ per night and for a single person to opt for a single room for an extra 15€ per night. We also offer private apartments for groups and families of 3 to 4 people with a supplement of €20 per night.

Imsouane Accommodation – The Surf Lodge
At Imessouane Surf Lodge you will find everything you need to feel at home: comfortable beds, hot showers, clean sheets / towels and delicious home cooked meals from our Chef. The camp has 5 bedrooms and can accommodate up to 13 people. Meals are served in the dining room or on the panoramic terrace. It is possible to choose your accommodation in shared room, double or single depending on availability.
In between sessions, relax in your room or enjoy the different common life areas of the surf lodge: check the spots from the rooftop, admire the sunset over the ocean, play a game of cards or watch a good surf movie in our moroccan living room. Enjoy a moment of life with other travelers and local surfers who do not hesitate to share their simple way of life. The place to be to fully enjoy your stay in Morocco! Ideal for solo travelers, families or couples, the house breathes happiness. The Surf Lodge in Imessouane is our base camp. Because we like to be comfortable and make you feel at home, we choose this house to be close to our favorit surf spots! Situated in front of the ocean, it’s just 5 min walk from the village and the spots (Magic bay, Cathedral Point and the Reef).
We provide a bath towel, sheets, and water during meals. If necessary, there is a possibility to wash your clothes.

Free Surf Imsouane package offers two options of unique accommodations:
Waterfront House – Dar Nana
Dar Nana is a charming home nestled on a cliff directly facing the Cathedral, one of the three surf breaks of Imsouane. It offers direct access to the beach and you will be able to check the surf every morning from your window.
This unique and beautiful home has been newly renovated to keep its authentic character and charm while offering a comfortable stay for its visitors.
With soft colors, chic materials and patterns, and top-of-the-range bedding, this beachfront house perfectly combines tradition and modernity. Directly facing the ocean, it is the ideal place to make your stay in Imsouane a unique experience! Its many terraces offer plenty of space for you to bask under the sun in a lounge chair or hammock or relax under the shade of a parasol.
With six bedrooms (one single, two doubles, one twin and two triples), shared bathrooms and access to a fully equipped kitchen, outdoor spaces and a living area, the atmosphere in this waterfront house is homely and peaceful. It offers both privacy and communality to its visitors. In the evenings, the direct view of the sunset, the starry sky and the moon’s reflection on the water will take your breath away! You will fall asleep every night to the sound of waves breaking on the shore just steps away from you.
Private appartment – Big Blue
Located opposite the Cathedral surf spot, the two Big Blue apartments have been tastefully designed. Each of the apartments has a bedroom with double bed, a bathroom, a bright living room and a balcony with sea view.
Ideally located within walking distance to shops and surf spots, this accommodation offers all the necessary comfort for a couple or small family (with the option of adding a bed in the living room) who wish to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of Imsouane.
A small café on the ground floor offers you a convenient place to have breakfast and order meals.

Ahmed is truly the best chef cook ever! You cannot resist his delicious meals: tajine, couscous and more… Graduated from Agadir Cooking School, with years of experience, Ahmed cooks for you with his heart! He likes to go himself in the souk/market to choose fresh products, vegetables and fruits in season. Always mindful of a balanced and healthy alimentation, he can adapt to your diet whether you are a meat lover or vegetarian. He will make you discover the tasty flavors of the traditional Moroccan cuisine!

Ismael is a talented surfer and an even more talented sous-chef. He cooks amazing dishes that will mark your taste buds forever. He will always welcome you in the morning with a warm smile, and will make everything to make you feel like a part of the Travel Surf Morocco Family.

Because the surfing season in Morocco is long and works up an appetite, we recruited a second kitchen team to make sure our guests stay well-fed. Karim and his kitchen assistant Hussein form an excellent team and will offer you delicious dishes all week long! They can adapt their menu to your diet and offer tasty desserts every night to cap each meal. With their original salads and succulent classic Moroccan dishes, they will delight your taste buds from morning to night. They will even join our guests for surf sessions during their free time!

We organize surf lessons according to the waves conditions and the tides. The surf lessons are adapted to the level of each person and there is a maximum of 7 people per one teacher. We usually do two sessions per day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. In total, you will surf for about 5 hours on an average day, depending, of course on your physical conditions and the conditions of waves!

We have all types of boards; soft boards for beginners/ children and hard boards in all sizes for intermediate surfers (NSP, Torq). We offer a large range collection of surfboards (Takayama, Christenson, Bluff longboard), pro-Indiana model, shortboards, hard or inflatable SUP and carbon fiber paddleboards. You will have the possibility to try different boards according to different conditions of the waves, what is a massive advantage of our school.

THE YOGA TEACHER & MASSAGE – TRAVEL SURF MOROCCO

JOLANA

Joli arrived in Morrocco and fell in love with Imsouane and the surf and decided to stay. Born in the Czech Republic, she has lived in the UK and studied yoga with Godfrey Deveroux in Italy and France. Her teaching is rooted in dynamic yoga methods and has been refined through years of practice. She spent over 10 years in Nepal, supporting  small communities and is passionate about discovering more cultures.

Her yoga practice is focused on sensing your body and bringing you to a more clear and focused state of mind with ulola (wave like) movements. You will also learn breathing techniques to help awaken or calm the nervous system. Joli is experienced and skilled enough to tailor your yoga experience in both one-on-one and group settings. She will invite you to use your body’s intelligence to have a safer and more holistic yoga practice

Joli also offers ayurvedic treatments: powerful and active therapeutic massages, using specific techniques with hot oil to release any pain or tension in the body and mind. Her sessions are supported by breath work and yoga postures. Each treatment is based on your specific needs after a short consultation. Her massages work will energize you and help you feel your best physically.

Breaks directly at the main spot and at nearby spots

The Magic Bay is ideal for progressing: sandy bottom, little current, easy paddling out and protected spot! There are no shore breaks or baïnes, but long and mellow waves with an easy access to the peak.

Seasonal conditions
In Morocco, surf conditions are good during the entire year. The season of big swells is during winter mainly in the areas of Taghazout and Agadir. Imessouane offers excellent and fairly steady surfing conditions during all seasons (even during the summer).

TAMRAGHT
Tamraght is an authentic Berber village, 14 km north from Agadir and 40 minutes from its international airport. Between Banana Village and Taghazout, it is the perfect place to find the peace and surf every day different spots (pointbreak, beachbreak, reef, slabs). Close to Agadir, you have to possibility to go visiting the souk market, explore the Paradise Valley or enjoy extra activities (horse riding, yoga class, hammam, massage, etc.).

Activities and facilities

Imessouane is a small village that offers all fundamental shops and facilities such as cafes/ juice bar, small grocery shops, surf shops, craft shops of local artisans, a barber, a massage center and a car service.
If conditions are not good, we offer alternative activities. You can visit the nearby cities (Agadir and Essaouira), their souks and local craft places, go SUP, relax at the Imessouane massage center or go skateboarding. You can also take a long walk along the coast, observe the Bald Ibis or just grab an amazing avocado smoothie in one of the village’s fruit juice bars and enjoy the breathtaking views and the local atmosphere.

Ways to get to the camp

We organize the transfer by taxi from/to Essaouira and Agadir airports (travel time is about 1h30). If you arrive in Marrakech, you can take a bus with Supratour or CTM which takes about 3h30. We will then organize your transfer from/to the bus stations in Essaouira and Agadir to/from our camp. In case you are interested in being picked up at Marrakesh airport, we are happy to offer this extra service, however, this is not included in the price of our packages. Transfer from or to Marrakech possible for extra 60€ (one way).

Important 

The purchase and consumption of alcohol is tolerated in Morocco, although this is not part of the local culture. Beers and table wine from Morocco are available at the local village bar. If you would like to consume spirits during your stay, you should plan on bringing it with you.
To be able to enter Morocco, all non-Moroccan visitors are required to present with a valid passport. Depending on the nationality, a visa might be also necessary. However, in general, European travelers do not need a visa for the purposes of tourism for up to three months.*

You will be able to take advantage of our unique stays close to the best surf spots where you will have the luxury of being able to take a quick walk to the ocean whenever you like.
