Super great time here! This surf station is very relaxing and friendly place and you just become friends with everyone here on your first day. We lived in triple room, it was very clean and spacious. Breakfasts were delicious! I came with my friend - she wanted to learn surfing and I just came to chill, as I'm not very sporty myself. I always thought that surfing is not for me but for people who go to gym and look like models and are somewhere in parallel universe. I'm not like that.
But my friend convinced me to lake 1 lesson and that was it - I couldn't stop)) It turned out that you don't have to be super strong or fit to surf. Everyone can do that, even me))) So I fell in love with everything here - surfing, instructors, food (btw thats best breakfast place ever I swear) We were not only surfing but also traveling around, exploring cool local food places, exploding my instagram))) Went to safari to see elephants - thanks to Katya the manager, she organized everything for us.
Now when I'm back I still watch my surfing photos again and again and want to go back.

The best surf camp! Very cozy Villa, with great cook! I tried surfing for the first time in my life and fell in love with it, thanks to Watermelon team. Lessons were pure joy. I made huge progress over my stay in the camp. Planning to come back again! Lots of things to explore around by tuk-tuk! I went to Galle old town, visited all nearby beaches and spa centers)))

ABOUT THE SURF CAMP
LOCATION AND SURF CONDITIONS
Southstar Hotel, Kabalana road, Kathaluwa, Ahangama, Sri Lanka
Our villa is located within a walking distance from Ahangama beach. It is not far from well-known Mirissa and Weligama surf towns.
It takes only 15 minutes to get to surf spots by car or tuk-tuk (transfer to surf spots is included).
It is 18 km to Galle, 16 km to Mirissa beach, 9km to Weligama beach.
There are a lot of surf spots around for all levels of surfing skills.
We start with soft gentle waves of Weligama beach and then after getting confident enough - experience challenging reef breaks like a pro!

Out camp is great for any age and is family-friendly.
We speak English and Russian languages.

We are an energetic team of ocean and surfing lovers.
One day we realized it was the right time to do something special. We left our jobs in metropolises and set up a surf camp – an ideal place for learning and mastering surfing skills, socializing and going for adventures with other keen surfers, all on the wonderful island of Sri Lanka.

ACCOMMODATION AND CATERING
ACCOMMODATION TYPES
We offer rooms in a comfortable villa within a walking distance from a beautiful and picturesque beach in Ahangama. The villa has its own private territory with a car park and garden. The rooms are spacious and air-conditioned. You will enjoy the convenience of our on-site restaurant. The entire property is a Wi-Fi zone, and you can take advantage of our laundry whenever you need it. Around the villa, there are chill-out areas with powerful speakers, barbecue sites, a cinema, skateboard ramp and many other facilities to fit every taste.
We offer several types of accommodation:
-Rooms for 2-3 guests, comfy beds, air conditioning and a bathroom.
-Spacious air-conditioned room for 6 people is a great hostel option for big companies and party-loving people.
-Special ramp for camping. There are also shower cabins and a toilet.
CATERING
We have our own kitchen and we offer free breakfasts and also lunch and dinner options. We offer a variety of fresh local fruits, fresh fish from the market and mix of local and European cuisine.
There is free drinking water and a fridge that you can use.

Ways to get to the camp
You arrive at Colombo airport which is 123km from our Villa.
The easiest way is to order transfer which is $75 one way and takes approximately 2,5 hours.
You can save money taking bus and train, the way might take 4-6 hours and cost you much less - please contact us for details!
