The camp will take place in Peniche, Portugal. Peniche is known as the wave capital of Europe. Due to its exclusive geography, it is able to provide great surfing conditions more than 300 days a year. The cluster of beaches surrounding Peniche provides surfers the opportunity to choose their favorite break and whatever the swell and weather conditions and find a peak that works perfectly. These facts and more led the ASP in 2009 to choose Peniche, "Supertubos" as one of the World Surf League stops, known as the MEO Rip Curl Pro Peniche.

We started with a 15 sqm garage surf school, one year later we bought a 5000 sqm underdeveloped facility.  During winter of 2017  the Neptune Warriors team demolished and rebuilt all the interior, ending with 20 private rooms, a restaurant, gym, bar, two training rooms and an adventure activities area. We named the place Sharks Lodge.

Neptune Warriors Lda received the certification as an official training institution by the Portuguese Government in 2018, operating under the brand Sharks Training, allowing Sharks Lodge to start hosting professional training courses in diverse areas such as Fire Department Commanders, Surf Coaches, Police Units Team Building and Motivation, Barman, Leadership or First Aid. 

In 2020 we became an affiliated CrossFit box (Shark’s CrossFit) and built an outside training area with several wooden structures for our WODs and Obstacle Course Racing training.

 In early 2021 we opened our online learning platform, Boss.sharkstraining.com.

We also rebuilt our pool bar from scratch and turned it into a full American Bar, for our training courses and guests. At the end of the year, we partnered with 2 universities to start delivering courses with academic credit and post graduations in 2022 onwards.

Shark’s Lodge is a fully renovated facility built 200 meters away from the Atlantic Ocean in the Baleal area, Peniche. At Shark’s Lodge, you will find not only rooms (single, double, triple or quadruple, all with private bathroom) for a comfortable stay but a restaurant, bar, two pools, two tennis courts, an outside CrossFit box, a gym, OCR structures, and even a climbing wall inside the restaurant. The lodge has private twin and single rooms.

During your stay, you will be provided with a daily buffet breakfast included in the package. You can book half pension at an additional cost of 100 EUR that serves five lunches. There are a bar and a restaurant on site.

SURF COURSE DETAILS

All surf classes are adapted to your experience and skill level. Classes are taught by experienced, certified instructors. We will make sure that you are having the best time of your life catching waves. Each surf lesson lasts 2 hours.

On the first lesson our surf instructors will give you a proper introduction to the sport of surfing and science behind it, including a detailed explanation about surf etiquette and safety.

Our instructors are some of the best, as we also are an accredited training institution, and run the best official instructor courses in the country, under the trademark Sharks Training.

Ways to get to the camp

Driving directions from Lisbon Take the A8 Highway towards Leiria / Porto. Stop at the tolls to collect a ticket and pay the next toll. Drive towards Peniche exiting the A8 onto the IP6. At the third roundabout (Nossa Senhora da Boa Viagem roundabout), turn right in the direction of Baleal. Drive about 900 meters and then turn right to enter Sol village II. Take the third exit off the roundabout to arrive at Rua do Salgado, 13. Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Lisbon Portela Airport (LIS). Shark's Lodge offers a private airport transfer service to pick you up at the airport on your arrival. The transport fee will be 100 EUR.

Arrival by bus

To get from Lisbon Portela Airport (LIS) to the bus station Sete Rios, you can take a taxi or go by metro or shuttle bus. There, you can catch the “Rede Expresso” bus to Peniche. Once you know what time your bus will arrive at Peniche, please call Shark's Lodge if you opt for a transfer from the Peniche bus terminal to the retreat location.

Shark’s week is a unique active bundle allowing you to explore Peniche, Portugal. You will not get bored with this. Your stay includes free access to five surf lessons (two hours each), five CrossFit WOD, and five fun activities including standup paddleboarding (SUP), kayaking, hiking, or climbing. You can relax in the pools or play tennis on the courts at all times. Shark’s Lodge creates a community of like-minded people who have the same drive as you do.

But be ready, they will treat you like friends, not clients. The instructors are a big part of their family and will guide you through mastering the Atlantic Ocean or your CrossFit wods. Whether you are a beginner or a professional, they will have your back. The program is a unique combination of activities for a memorable time in Peniche, Portugal. You start your morning with an outdoor CrossFit workout of the day (wod), followed by a surfing class.

Depending on weather conditions, in the afternoon, you will go hike, climb, SUP, or kayak. At the end of the day, it is time to unwind and create friendships: go out for dinner in Peniche, use the barbecue at Shark’s Lodge, or throw an unforgettable pool party. Do not forget that the best part of the stay is the community you get to know. It is people from all over the world who also have an active bug.
