ABOUT THE SURF CAMP

Our place lies a little outside of Samara on a small hilltop, surrounded by a huge and beautiful tropical garden. The perfect place to relax after your surf sessions. Our unique, rustic treehouses are built on piles. From the terrace you can spot wildlife or just chill in the hammock.

In our small Surfcamp with a cozy atmosphere, we want to share our passion for surfing with you and offer a genuine experience of Costa Rica's lifestyle, nature & people. Our goal is your progress and that's why our I.S.A certified instructors and small groups (never more than three surfers per coach) will give you the personalized attention you need to improve your skills and feel safe and relaxed during your Costarican trip. We speak English, Spanish and German. Our two very friendly dogs Morty and Pinto are always up for some adventure.

We are a surf-crazed Costa Rican-Swiss couple who fell in love with Samara a long time ago. Surf Samara is born from the idea of infusing the surfing experience with the cultural experience that is living in Samara. An embracing community that will make you feel at home, Samara is in the middle of a surf-rich area where you will be able to improve your surfing while simultaneously immersing yourself in the Tico lifestyle.
We believe in creating rich and meaningful memories, and transmitting our surfing values, ideals and ways of engaging with nature to our guests in forms they can apply to all aspects of their life. We want to share our passion for waves and for this beautiful place with you!

Our Treehouses
Located on top of a lushy hill, green and full of life. Our treehouses are designed to fit this environment and make you feel inmersed in nature.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in the recently built rancho, which is also a perfect spot for our Yoga lessons.

SURF COURSE AND ACTIVITIES

Whatever your level is, we can help you improve your skillset so you can get more and better waves.

Beginner:
- How to assess the ever-changing surfing conditions
- Board control & etiquette
- Ocean awareness and safety
- Proper paddling technique
- Proper pop-up technique
- All about the managenent and care of the equipment you will use

Intermediate:
- How to properly catch open face waves
- How to properly read and time your waves
- How to generate speed along the wave
- A more expansive knowledge of etiquette and priority while on the line-up

Advanced:
- How to improve your wave selection
- Adding power to your turns
- Paddle techniques: maximize your power
- Board positioning and transition during maneuvers

Do you feel like having two extra surf lessons, or a yoga lesson instead. Maybe kayaking to the island or go whale-watching, more or less meals?
