Location and surf conditions

We are located in small village on the beach call Praia da Areia Branca, on west coast just 10 minutes from Peniche, the Portuguese capital of waves and only 45 minutes from Lisbon Airport. Here we have the most beautiful and un-crowded beaches with the perfect conditions from beginners to expert surfers. The most known beach is Super Tubos, but we have more as good as it, like Lagido, Molhe Leste, Cerro, Peralta and many more. You can also enjoy the beautiful landscape that our region have to offer.

Camp character

Our surf house it's available to > 25 people. Positioned directly opposite the beach, (just 200 meters) you can have a nice relax time in the camp, after a surfing day in one of our beautiful beaches, whatever it may be, watching the beautiful sunset.

The main languages spoken at the camp are English, German, Spanish and Portuguese.

Global Surf school & camp as been founded in 2007 and is run by a local and expert surfer named João. He is qualified by Portuguese Surf Federation (FPS) and certified beach lifeguards. As a local he and his team known perfectly all the region beaches and they are very keen to show to all the guests their culture and ensuring that you have the best surf holidays in Portugal. We do not only want you to learn how to surf, but also want that you get involved with the culture and nature.

Accommodition
Our main surf house at Praia da Areia Branca. A classic Portuguese style house, totally renovated inside and out improving its interior/exterior comfort and giving it a modern look and feel. Perfectly located only a one minute walk from the beachfront, also including a large swimming pool and deck for lounging or peaceful meditation and yoga. Enjoy the beach, the surf, local restaurants, the scenic walks and many other activities that make your stay spectacular!

Surf course details

---

Being locals from west coast Portugal, our instructors knows the perfect beachs to teach with the best conditions, once we have many beachs in different geographic positions which permit very type of waves according to the weather conditions. All of our instructors are fully qualified by Portuguese Surf Federation (FPS) and certified beach lifeguards, assured you have a professional and quality surf lesson. Lessons are held in the mornin or afternoon, or even both you will chose and it will depend on your level and requirements. Usually the lessons are 90min long and are taught in English or Portuguese with a limit of 6 surfers per each instructor so you can get de most out of the lesson.

If you are more experienced surfer and if you prefer, we can just guide you to the best surf spots, were you can socialize with other local surfers and obtain a depper knowledge of our type of waves, region or culture.

Surf materials

All lesson costs includes the wetsuit and surfboard, the instructor, sport insurance and transport to and from other surf spots when necessary. We have all boards sizes, from foamie boards to beginners to fiberglass boards for advanced surfers. if you don't want have lessons, you could just rent the necessary material and have a free surf.

Other activities

If you come with friends, or family and some of them do not want to surf, or if you just want to make something different we can organise a trip to other of many more activities in our area that you can enjoy, like: Paintball; Bike Rental; Skating; Yoga; Horse Riding; Karting; Visit Monuments; Mini-golf; Wine Tasting; Sport Fishing; Snorkeling; Kayaking; Boat Rides; Paddle- Boarding;

Twenty-kilometre coastline from sandy beaches to reef break, our region offers more then 30 surf spots with perfect conditions to learn or just for free surf with no crowd.

Seasonal conditions

---

Due to it's geographical position, Portugal is blessed with some seriously sweet swells throughout most of the year, You can drive up the coast along 600km + of open beach breake and concealed bays. The best swells come in late winter early spring. The water temperature is more warm in spring and summer period, between March / April - October and we'll use a short or 3/2mm wetsuit, in winter and autumn, between November - February the weather will be a little cooler and the wetsuit will be a 4/3mm.

Crowd factor and local people

You don't even have to go very far from famous beaches to find yourself alone with possibly an even better wave than 10-15 people are fighting for five minutes down the road. Here, everybody has a place to surf.

Characterization of surroundings/ region

Located on the heart of west coast in Portugal, the Lourinhã region is situated in one of the most beautiful and consistent surf spots in Europe. We are situated in Praia da Areia Branca just at 5 minutes from Peniche and 25 minutes from Ericeira! The local currency is Euro.

Activities and facilities

There are always a plenty of things to do and to see in Praia da Areia Branca / Peniche. We have a lots of restaurants, cafes, discos, surfboard repair shops, grocery shops, pharmacys, banks and every services that you will need to have a great hollidays. In the evening Praia da Areia Branca have to offer a lot of bars, and nightlife that you can enjoy only a few meters from the surf house. Not to far from Lisbon (only 45 minutes), we can guide you to the capital so you can know the city.
